Foundation of CEVOLVER project

Foundation of the CEVOLVER project:

The constraints of the current generation of electric vehicles are: limited range, (relative) high prices and inconvenient long charging times. Perceived range anxiety is one of the main barriers to EV adoption by the broader customer pool. Extreme conditions like hot or cold weather also profoundly affect the achievable driving range that can be achieved. Further, current EVs lack adequate abilities to fully utilise the benefits of fast charging infrastructure.

In order to overcome these constraints, future electric vehicles require a step change in energy and thermal management, control strategies, functionalities and user friendliness.
